Sarah doesn't believe in wasting any available drawlength...

Decoration...

Drawing just under 28" to the head.
It shoots quite nicely, with a bit of hand-shock, and feels reasonably quick.

Bow #1: Ash flat-bow.From this: ![]() Via this: ![]() and this: ![]() To this: ![]() It came out at about 50lb @ 30" - not as much as I'd hoped, but respectable for a first try. It was then left sitting in clamps to finish drying prior to heat treatment. Following discussions online, I realise I should have waited for it to stabilise before starting to tiller. I need more patience, and I need it NOW, dammit! The bow was left indoors and being weighed every day, abd allowed to reach equilibrium before re-tillering. At the ambient temperature and humidity, equilibrium MC would be about 9-10%, which is near-ideal for ash. Heat-treatment and re-tillering followed, with the draw-weight eventually dropping to around 30lb @30", probably due to me starting to tiller before drying was complete. Finished with two coats of Danish oil and one of beeswax after decoration. ![]() Sarah doesn't believe in wasting any available drawlength... ![]() Decoration... ![]() ![]() Drawing just under 28" to the head.
